Invitation!

Nashville Members of AISL proudly invite you to attend the

2010 AISL Conference in Nashville: “Music and So Much More!”
Wednesday, April 14 – Friday, April 16, 2010

We know that you are looking for the richest professional development experiences that benefit 21st century librarians, so with that in mind, we have carefully planned the following speakers and workshops as well as school and cultural visits:

  • Speakers:

School Library Journal Columnist, Pat Scales
Ingram Book Company CEO, John Ingram
Emerging Technologies Specialist for BCR, Shelly Drumm
Best-selling author of Widow of the South, Robert Hicks

  • Opportunities to attend 5 workshops out of 18 options which encompass library management issues, Web 2.0, school archives, new books, improving library websites, etc.
  • Site visits to 6 outstanding Independent School Libraries: The Ensworth School, Father Ryan High School, Harpeth Hall School, Montgomery Bell Academy, Oak Hill School and University School of Nashville.  You will also receive specific information about innovative programs at each of these schools.
  • Tours of the downtown Nashville Public Library (a flagship library built on the site of a former urban mall), The Parthenon, Country Music Hall of Fame and Belle Meade Plantation
  • An additional optional workshop for Follett Destiny users
  • Self-guided walking tours of Vanderbilt University will be offered since the conference hotel is adjacent to VU’s campus

While Nashville is known as “Music City,” and you’ll certainly hear lots of music at this conference, it is our hope that your memories of Nashville will be of music and so much more!
